The famous tennis player had a photoshoot a few days ago with People Magazine in a bathing suit. However, as all magazines do, they retouched the picture with Photoshop before publishing it. Selena took the Photoshopped image and uploaded it to her Instagram account, but in just a matter of hours her comments section got flooded with comments asking why she had to upload that version of the picture, that was way too obvious it was edited.
Instagram’s basic pillar are pictures. It’s a website based on uploading pictures, you can’t do anything else apart from that and adding captions. So in order to stand out, you have to try to make your pictures as attractive as possible. And we might be great photographers, or not, but what helps all of us are photo-editing apps.
Instagram celebrities love taking pictures of themselves doing the most awkward things: kissing their couples while doing a headstand, licking a knife, doing casual things in abnormal poses… Basically, things that look very nice in their pictures but if someone normal were to do it, they’d look like a total freak.
Instagram is about standing out. If you upload boring and dull content, you’re never going to get anywhere. That’s why people try to come up with original ideas and fill their Instagram account with them, to attract more and more people. But sometimes we have to learn where to draw the line. Sometimes, you may just be going a little too far.
