Instagram is about standing out. If you upload boring and dull content, you’re never going to get anywhere. That’s why people try to come up with original ideas and fill their Instagram account with them, to attract more and more people. But sometimes we have to learn where to draw the line. Sometimes, you may just be going a little too far.

It’s not the first time we’ve seen people risk their lives to go viral on social media like Youtube, Twitter, Facebook and so on. And apparently that has reached Instagram too. This new life-threatening trend is going to Pedra da Gávea in Rio de Janeiro, which is at an extreme height and quite dangerous, take a picture of yourself there and upload it. Since it’s risky, it’s attractive. But how many likes is your own life worth?
At the moment, nobody has died in this location. But there are also many other risky locations around the world where many people have died posing for a picture or taking a selfie. Then you’ve got the people that risk their lives with other things like fire, wild animals and so on, which can have very similar outcomes. We honestly think it’s much safer to come up with your own original ideas that don’t involve risking your life. Select a niche for your account, take amazing pictures, but don’t stand at the edge of a cliff!
